Perfection through Practice

Arjuna was young and still a student of Guru Drona.

His mother Kunti had taken special care that her children always ate dinner in good light. One day, a heavy storm extinguished all oil lamps during dinner time.

But Arjuna, despite the darkness, discovered that his hand reached his mouth effortlessly and the reason was practice.

He started practising archery during the night also. He ended up becoming the best archer of his time. 

Practice results in perfection.

ಅಭ್ಯಾಸದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣತೆ

ಚಿಕ್ಕ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಅರ್ಜುನ ಗುರು ದ್ರೋಣಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಶಿಷ್ಯ.

ತಾಯಿ ಕುಂತಿಗೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಕಾಳಜಿ. ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಭೋಜನವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಬೆಳಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವಿಸಲೆಂದು ಪ್ರಖರವಾದ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು. ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಭೋಜನ ಸವಿಯುವ ವೇಳೆ ಚಂಡಮಾರುತವೊಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿ ಹಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ದೀಪಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಂದಿಹೋದವು.

ಕತ್ತಲೆಯ ಹೊರತಾಗಿಯೂ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತುತ್ತು ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಅರಿತ ಅರ್ಜುನ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡ.

ಈ ಘಟನೆಯ ನಂತರ ಬಿಲ್ಲು ವಿದ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯೂ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಿಲ್ವಿದ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೀಣನಾದ. ತನ್ನ ಕಾಲದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾರನೆಂದು ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ.

ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣತೆಯ ಹಾದಿಗೆ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸವು ಬೆಳಕು ಚೆಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಈ ವೃತ್ತಾಂತದ ಸಂದೇಶ.
